Ecosystems Consulting, Inc. (PEC)
is a professional ecological consulting firm specializing in assessment
and management of aquatic and terrestrial resources. Established in
1995, PEC is classified as a small business and is located in Arvada,
Colorado, a northwest suburb of Denver. Professional disciplines of
PEC include quantitative and descriptive ecology, fishery and wildlife
sciences, wetland ecology, threatened and endangered species consultation,
and water quality management.

As professional
ecologists, we have considerable experience conducting various studies
and biological assessments. PEC has performed comprehensive limnological
studies on large reservoirs, has conducted various biological assessments
on streams and rivers, has formulated riparian and terrestrial habitat
improvement plans, and has completed numerous wetland delineation surveys
and mitigation plans. We have conducted investigations for supporting
FERC relicensing, NEPA, NRDA, NPDES, and CERCLA environmental programs.
Many of our studies have included assessments related to historic mining
impacts, fish and wildlife ecology, instream flow, aquatic habitat,
stream use-attainability and classification, water quality, and macroinvertebrate
communities. PEC is called upon to formulate study designs; collect,
analyze and interpret scientific data; review and prepare scientific
reports; and provide expert witness testimony.
In our
laboratory, the PEC Aquatic Ecology Laboratory,we
process and analyze numerous biological samples, including benthic invertebrates,
plankton and algae. Our lab also has the capability to analyze various
water quality parameters. We take pride in our strict QA/QC and SOP
programs, as well as our rapid turnaround times and professional report
deliverables. Our goals are to provide quality services and maintain
long term client relations by being creative and applying high technical
standards.
